About Us

Pronto Removals & Storers was established on May 11th 1987, as a partnership of husband and wife team Charles and Marisa Ayton.  The business quickly grew and by July 1988, the company employed 6 staff and operated 4 removal vans.  In December 1988, the company invested in freehold premises, Centurion House, which remains the company's headquarters today.  In the early 1990's, the recession struck the housing market, badly affecting removal businesses nationwide, and Pronto was forced to lay off staff to survive. Diversification was seen as the way forward; the company ventured into the specialist market of mobile home transport which was still booming, acquiring a caravan transporter to meet the demands. This, together with a reduced market in removals, kept the company solvent during the worst times of the recession. Within 2 years, however, the mobile home market fell victim to the recession and the company sold the transporter, and the partnership de-registered for VAT. It was at this time that Charles started a separate business, Dream City, manufacturing upholsterers to the trade, and retailers of beds and furniture. Dream City also continues to operate from Centurion House, as a bed and furniture retail outlet, together with Seats UK Limited, a specialist manufacturing upholstery business. In 2004, Pronto Removals Ltd was incorporated. The three businesses continue to flourish, all under one roof at Centurion House.

Premises

At Pronto Removals Ltd we place great value on the security of our building and of your household effects stored with us. All external doors have high security steel clad doors and we have an 8 foot high fence surrounding our building. Our store also features high security steel clad doors and steel barred windows. There is a security & fire alarm system in place.
